Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) is an inorganic substance, a new water purification material, inorganic polymer coagulant, referred to as polyaluminum. It is a water-soluble inorganic polymer between AlCl3 and Al(OH)3, and the chemical formula is [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m, where m represents the degree of polymerization and n represents the degree of neutrality of PAC products. n=1~5 is a highly charged polymeric ring chain with Keggin structure, which has a high degree of electric neutralization and bridging effect on colloids and particles in water, and can strongly remove micro-toxic substances and heavy metal ions, and has stable properties. The inspection method can be inspected according to the national standard GB 15892-2003. Due to the bridging effect of hydroxyl ions and the polymerization of polyvalent anions, polyaluminum chloride produced is an inorganic polymer water treatment agent with higher molecular weight and higher charge.
The color is yellow or light yellow, dark brown, dark gray resinous solid. The product has strong bridging adsorption properties. During the hydrolysis process, physical and chemical processes such as condensation, adsorption and precipitation occur. The fundamental difference between polyaluminum chloride and traditional inorganic coagulants is that the traditional inorganic coagulants are low-molecular crystalline salt, while the structure of polyaluminum chloride is composed of multi-carboxyl complex with changeable morphology, fast flocculation and precipitation rate, wide pH range, non-corrosive to pipeline equipment, and obvious water purification effect. It can effectively remove SS, COD, BOD and heavy metal ions such as arsenic and mercury in water. The product is widely used in drinking water, industrial water and sewage treatment fields.
