The production process of calcium chloride without spunlace balls

The production process of calcium chloride for spunlace balls can be summarized as the following key steps. The following is its main production process and technical description:

First, the selection and preparation of raw materials

The main raw materials for the production of spinhorn-free ball calcium chloride are calcium chloride dihydrate or calcium-containing compounds (such as limestone, calcium carbonate, etc.) and hydrochloric acid.

  1. Preparation of calcium chloride dihydrate
    It can be extracted from natural salt lakes or by chemical reactions. Calcium chloride dihydrate, which has a higher purity, can be used directly for production, while mineral salts need to be purified and impurities.
  2. Preparation of hydrochloric acid
    The use of industrial grade hydrochloric acid, usually requires a concentration of more than 30% hydrochloric acid in order to react with calcium-containing substances to form calcium chloride solution.

Second, the preparation of calcium chloride solution

  1. Reaction Process
    By gradually adding hydrochloric acid to limestone or calcium carbonate, a reaction occurs to form a calcium chloride solution, accompanied by the release of carbon dioxide. The reaction equation is:
    [
    \text{CaCO}_3 2\text{HCl} → \text{CaCl}_2 \text{CO}_2↑ \text{H}_2\text{O}
    ]
  2. Solution Filtration
    The calcium chloride solution obtained after the reaction needs to be filtered to remove impurities and unreacted substances to ensure the purity of the solution. The filtered calcium chloride solution usually has a concentration of around 20% to 40%.
  3. Concentration Process
    The calcium chloride solution is heated and concentrated using an evaporation device to remove some of the water to a higher concentration (e.g., 60 to 70 percent) for subsequent treatment.

3. Dehydration and drying

  1. Spray Drying Method
    The high-concentration calcium chloride solution is sprayed into the high-temperature air at high speed through the spray dryer, so that the water evaporates quickly to form dry calcium chloride particles. Spray drying is able to complete the drying process quickly and improve the purity of the product.
  2. Fluidized Bed Drying Method
    In the fluidized bed drying equipment, the calcium chloride particles are fluidized under the action of hot air, and the water is fully contacted, and the water evaporates rapidly to obtain anhydrous calcium chloride particles.
  3. Multi-stage evaporation method
    A multi-stage evaporation device is used to heat and evaporate the calcium chloride solution, reduce the moisture content many times, and finally obtain an anhydrous calcium chloride solid. This method is suitable for large-scale production.

Fourth, the spherical granulation process

The unique shape of spherical anhydrous calcium chloride helps to improve its hygroscopic properties, and granulation is one of the key steps.

  1. Thorn Ball Mould Forming
    The dried anhydrous calcium chloride particles are passed through a specially designed thorn ball mold, and the particles are made into small balls similar to thorn balls by using high-pressure extrusion or rolling technology.
  2. High Temperature Sintering
    In order to make the spike particles more durable and durable, the granulated anhydrous calcium chloride is put into the sintering furnace, which is usually sintered at a high temperature of 400-500 °C, so that the particles are harder and not easy to break.
  3. Cooling & Sieving
    After sintering, the calcium chloride particles need to be cooled quickly, and then the unqualified particles are screened out by the screening equipment to ensure that the finished particle size is uniform.

5. Packaging and storage

  1. Packing
    The resulting spunlace-free calcium chloride granules are packed into sealed plastic bags or plastic drums to avoid moisture absorption and deliquescent, and the packaging specifications are usually adjusted according to customer needs.
  2. Storage
    The finished product needs to be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated warehouse to prevent moisture absorption and deterioration.
