Use of urea in agriculture and industry

Urea (urea), also known as urea, carbamide, chemical formula is CH4N2O, is an organic compound composed of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen, is a white crystal. One of the simplest organic compounds, it is the main nitrogenous end product of protein metabolic breakdown in mammals and certain fish.

In agriculture, nitrogen fertilizer is the most widely used and the most important fertilizer. Nitrogen fertilizer currently accounts for 60 percent of global fertilizer use, phosphate 23 percent and potash 17 percent. The international nitrogen fertilizer is basically based on urea, and urea is the largest fertilizer used in the world.

In industry, urea is mainly used in the production of urea-formaldehyde resins, melamine and cyanuric acid.

Among them, urea and formaldehyde to produce urea formaldehyde resin, mainly used in the production of wood adhesives, but also used in the production of some plastic products, such as cable boards, power switches, toilet seats and other daily supplies. You may not have thought that the plugboard used every day will be related to urea.

What is car urea?

Automotive urea (diesel exhaust treatment liquid) is a colorless, transparent, clear liquid, generally composed of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water, the concentration is about 31.8-33.2%.

At the same time, this urea is also a high-purity urea, and the difference with agricultural urea is that it removes biuret, aldehydes, insoluble substances and trace elements.

It is used to make diesel cars meet exhaust emission standards, in order to make exhaust gas standards. The urea content in automotive urea is as high as 33.2%.

Vehicle urea is mainly used to reduce nitrogen oxides, so that the exhaust gas discharged by diesel locomotives is pollution-free nitrogen and water vapor, thereby reducing the environmental pollution caused by exhaust gas.

Because the formula is different, it may have a bad effect on the crops and the land.

The SCR scheme in the exhaust emission treatment system of diesel vehicles has obvious advantages at present. Automotive urea is a common necessary additive in SCR systems.

SCR system operation process: SCR system mainly includes urea tank and SCR catalytic reaction tank. When nitrogen and oxygen compounds exist in the exhaust pipe, vehicle urea is ejected from the urea tank, and then the vehicle urea and nitrogen oxide are REDOX reaction in the SCR catalytic reaction tank to generate nitrogen and water vapor, and finally discharged.

If the improper use of urea will lead to the blockage of the nozzle in the SCR system, be sure to see whether the urea content is in the qualified range when choosing automotive urea!
